Hi, I'm Jacqui! :)

 

In 2013 I started making jewelry out of a personal need. I found when I was looking for accessories that were simple but stylistic, it seemed that everything was either too ornate or not quite what I was looking for. Other things I saw made me say, "I can totally make that myself, but I would change this or that." The real kicker is that I'm allergic to nickel so any cheap jewelry (which was also what I could afford) made my skin irritated. That's when I started making my own jewelry and the rest, as they say, is history. My friends started asking me to make them pieces, and then my entrepreneurial spirit took over. Since then, my style, aesthetic and skills have evolved to what Nādiv Designs is today, which I would say is still an evolution.

I think that jewelry should not only reflect who we are as individuals, but should connect us to the world around us. Stone, wood, metal, leather and other native elements is what I like to make jewelry from. What I love is that the elements themselves tell a story and have a meaning. They give a sense of purpose to the jewelry so that when you wear it, you are not only able to express your individuality, but can help you dive a little deeper and connect with that which is all around you - this wonderful universe.
